"Would not recommend this for vacation as most of our group of 20 people there to attend a wedding was sick most of the trip. Beds very uncomfortable and a lot of staff on resort not very friendly. It was like if you were not tipping every time you received something for someone, service was very poor."

"The beach is excellent all sand bottom with no rock. The food is excellent with all varities under the sun that will fit different tastes. The room is very nice and clean. Lobby bar is a bit crowded at night and there is room for improvement on the night entertainment. The complex is huge and expect some walking distance in between and don't forget the mosquito spray for some night. Fishing is great around the mangrove. Overall it's one of the best value on many trips I have been to Cuba."

"The beach was superb. However, the beds were old, used and the springs were sticking in your back. The mattress of the third bed in the room was made out card board. Big disappointment in that respect. Food was okay for a couple of days then it went down. Staff were not very responsive."

"My first trip in the south, i was very disapointed about my room was discusting ,not clean ,the first day, i had to get change all the sheets from the bed ,blood clots all over them. The toillet was not flushing at all.My neabour was chassing a RAT in front of her patio door and to finish the week i had a cockroch in my room, I ask to change room but was told < no more room>..Thank god the resort was very nice and the nice temperature was amazing,The gardeners were very nice and the staf at the beer garden to . i WILL TRY ANOTHER RESORT TO COMPARE."

"We stayed here for a week in September for an anniversary and my birthday! We loved it! Staff are awesome, grounds are clean and well kept, as are the rooms. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and you can walk for miles everyday if you wish. It is sort of secluded and just a tourist area at the end of a long causeway. Only downfall is that long drive from the airport and you are not really close to any little towns or villages. We were greeted with a cake and a bottle of champagne for our celebration and really love and appreciate the staff. Would definitely go back there! In a minute!"

"This is an awesome hotel with awesome staff and very beautiful beach. The drawback about staying here is that you are an hour and a half from anywhere. You travel along a very long causeway built up over the ocean floor to get there. If you are going to just sit on the beach and don't care about the Cuban culture then this would be the place to go. The only Cubans you meet are the hotel staff and they all travel over an hour to get there. You are close to a couple of hotels and that is is! Beautiful though...huge resort!"

"The rooms were clean but not well maintained. Damage to furniture obviously done by tourists but curtains were dirty and shower curtain smelly. I had a problem with the shower which was attended to promptly. One very pleasant chap or one less cheery fellow came around most days (missed a couple) to refill the minibar with beer, soft drinks and water as well as coffee for in room coffee maker.
The grounds are extensive and well maintained. The gardeners are the most pleasant of the staff at the resort. The beach is fabulous. The sand is like icing sugar. You can walk to both ends until stopped by spikes of rock. I am not a water baby so only waded in the ocean but heard that there were jelly fish. The resort was half full so no problem finding a spot to relax at the beach or pool.
The buffet was mediocre at best, not near as good as other AI as food was usually not hot unless you had it cooked for you but the deserts were to die for. Get your coffee from the machines as what the waiter bring at breakfast is truly horrible. Ala carte I tried:
Romantic: The best
Italian: Very good
Seafood: The pits
The Lounge Bar is the most popular but there are others including a beer garden.
Tips are expected so get lots of 1convertable pesos. Most of the staff are very nice but unlike other AI, many are disinterested and one waiter at the lounge bar was downright rude when I did not tip for a coffee.
Not much for daily fun unless you were into sports. I only saw the animation team during organized activities and I thought they lacked enthusiasm.
There was a live band at the plaza every night with very good entertainment. The evening shows were pretty good but then again if I wanted a polished review I should have gone to Vegas. At least the costumes were in better shape than the last time I visited Cuba.
Overall, I am pleased I went as although there were minor disappointments, it was a good holiday.
And oh-ya- there are mosquitoes. Suggest you stay in doors when the noisy spray machine is on patrol around 6:00 unless you want to inhale a hefty dose of pesticide."

"We came here for a wedding. The comment we kept saying was the there was nothing wrong with the place but nothing really that special about it either. If you are getting this vacation for a grand or under... its great. It's huge so be ready to walk alot. Ocean was warmer than the pools, jacuzzi is not hot. They send around a bug bomb truck at sundown, no flies but a horried cloud in the air for a few. Because this resort is so big it is really hard to get a la carte bookings. Go as soon as you get there, 9am sharp! Yet we found that when we were in the restaurant, it was half empty. The buffet was ok, any of the really good items had large lineups, made for so so dinners there. They wanted you to pay extra for wine in the a la cartes Found difficulties when communication was key. Appointments were lost at the spa, questions were not answered and I found my self thinking all the time "did they get what I just said?" But on the other hand it was nice, clean and the staff did try hard to accomodate. Not trying to scare anyone away from this place, just wanted to give more info so there's less surprises."
