Our Opinion

The Riu Naiboa just finished some exciting new renovations, which were needed as the resort was getting tired. From what we hear they have renovated the lobby, pool bar and buffet restaurant. There is a new Italian a la carte and all the rooms received a facelift with new bathrooms with walk-in showers. They've also added in-room safes and liquor dispensers to the rooms. If one of the higher rated Riu's in the area is out of budget, this would be a good option. As always, the service at Riu Resorts is excellent.

Riu Naiboa Description

This 4 story, 372 room resort is only a short scenic walk from the spectacular 16-mile white sandy beach of Punta Cana. Enjoy the largest pool in the Riu complex, complete with its own waterfall. Guests of Riu Naiboa have the added pleasure of enjoying the luxuries of the 3 other Riu resorts located within the complex.

Location: A short 3 minute stroll to the beach, 90 minutes from La Romana airport, 30 minutes from Punta Cana airport and a 2 minute walk from the Caribbean street shopping avenue located within the Riu complex.

"Gr8, we had our 25th annv, get to enjoy the other 4 resorts belongs to RIU, Staff was gr8 and the do speak english, I even met an ex Bluejay working there (Minor League) we just loved it and will be going there again on Dec 20,2008."

"Basic but very clean and you have access to the other hotels in the resort. Be aware that most other guests do not speak English. This is a mostly European resort. It took us three days to meet people who spoke English."

Riu Naiboa - Extra Hotel Information

Please note: There will be extensive work being completed over the next year in building a brand new Riu Palace in Punta Cana and due to its proximity to the Riu Naiboa there will be disruptions at certain times of the day to the guests. With any building of a new complex one must anticipate noise disruption due to the equipment being used. Scheduled completion of the project is November 1, 2011.

Some restaurants may be open for certain meals only and limited visits may apply. Reservations required and dress code in effect for a la carte restaurants. Time restrictions may apply for water sports. Child pricing may only be available with select tour operators and valid for select dates and durations. Child pricing rules are subject to change without notice. Please contact one of our vacation specialists if you require assistance with child pricing.

Holy Week, leading up to Easter is a major holiday in the Dominican Republic. Beach and Watersports activities and Alcohol may not be available during this period and can be cancelled at any time.

IMPORTANT The Government of the Dominican Republic has increased the fee payable for the Justice of the Peace when getting married in the DR from $75US to $425US effective Jan 31/2007 & is at additional cost.
